Feb 4: Thai USS3 Rubber Prices Higher On Strong Demand

[Dow Jones] Physical prices of Thai USS3 rubber slightly higher at THB93.07-THB93.30/kg vs THB92.79-THB92.97 yesterday on strong demand as factories stock up on raw material in run-up to wintering season. Outside central market, factories even willing to pay above THB96/kg. “Even though supply increased slightly today, producers still need to buy USS3 as they prepare for a supply crunch in the next few weeks,” says Thailand-based exporter. Total quantity sold in three central markets of Thailand estimated at 108.9 tons vs 75.2 tons yesterday: 36.9 tons in Hat Yai, 20 tons in Surat Thani, 52 tons in Chandee. (HLN)
